How we work it out

We use International's formula for the underwater area: factor × waterline length × (beam + draft). The factor is 0.5 for slim fin-keel hulls, 0.75 for medium and 1.0 for full-bodied hulls. For a catamaran we work out each hull separately.
Paint quantity comes from each product's practical coverage (m²/L) and number of coats on its data sheet. The manufacturer advises an extra coat on the waterline and the edges of keel and rudder — we allow one extra coat on 10% of the area for that.
From the pack sizes in our shop we pick the cheapest combination that covers what you need. Prices are the shop's current prices.
Seajet only publishes theoretical coverage, so we take 10% off for losses (the same ratio as International's practical vs theoretical figures). Where the maker's figures differ, we use the lower one.

This is an estimate. Measurements you leave empty are estimated from the boat's length. Always read the product's technical and safety data sheets before painting.
