Intergard 7500
This item is intended for B2B sales. International Intergard 7500 aluminium is a high-performance, two-component pure epoxy universal primer with high volume solids (80 %), pigmented with aluminium, providing excellent long-term corrosion protection for steel surfaces. It is designed for professional protection in demanding marine environments. Thanks to advanced rheology technology, it offers improved airless spray application with lower thinner consumption and excellent edge retention. It is suitable for fast curing and application at low temperatures, down to –15 °C. Intergard 7500 is used as a universal epoxy primer on various areas of a vessel – from the underwater hull to water ballast tanks – in professional coating systems for newbuilding or maintenance. KEY FEATURES two-component pure epoxy coating with high volume solids (80 %) aluminium pigment for additional mechanical and corrosion resistance excellent long-term corrosion protection advanced rheology technology for easier spraying and lower thinner consumption excellent edge retention fast curing, can be applied at low temperatures, down to –15 °C suitable for the underwater hull, decks, superstructure and ballast tanks AREAS OF USE Intergard 7500 aluminium is intended for the professional protection of steel surfaces where effective, long-lasting corrosion protection and good resistance to mechanical stress are required. underwater hull of the vessel decks and steel structures exterior superstructure water ballast tanks mechanically prepared surfaces with shop primer APPLICATION Before application, surfaces must be properly prepared, clean and free of contaminants, abrasive blasted to Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1:2007) or SSPC-SP10. The recommended application method is airless spray with a 0.63–0.79 mm tip at a pressure of at least 211 kg/cm². Small areas can be coated by brush or roller (several coats may be required). For thinning, use only International GTA220 (max. 5 %). For cleaning equipment, use International GTA822 or GTA220. For surface preparation, choice of equipment, application temperatures, drying times and overcoating intervals, always follow the current International Technical Data Sheet (TDS). COMPATIBILITY Intergard 7500 is used as a primer in System A (together with Intergard 263 and Interspeed 6400 / Interswift 6800HS) or in System B (together with Intersleek 737 and Intersleek 1100SR). As a subsequent coat over Intergard 7500, the manufacturer's official system recommends Intergard 7500 (an additional coat) or Interthane 990. Alternatives to this product in the primer role are Intershield 300 ENA aluminium (higher abrasion resistance) and Intergard 7600 (a more economical choice for less demanding applications). IMPORTANT Intergard 7500 is a professional two-component epoxy coating. Part A and Part B form a single system and must be used in the specified mixing ratio of 3 : 1. Technical data may vary depending on colour shade, area of use, coating system and application conditions. Always check the current technical and safety data sheets before use.
