International Intergard 263
This item is intended for B2B sales. International Intergard 263 is a two-component tar-free epoxy tie coat designed to link an anticorrosive primer with an antifouling or cosmetic topcoat. Intergard 263 ensures maximum adhesion and long-term performance of the coating system on exterior hull areas, both above and below the waterline. It can also be used as a sealer coat over old TBT antifoulings, as at the specified thickness of 100 μm it forms a certified barrier against TBT leaching (tested to ASTM D5108-96, modified). Intergard 263 is a versatile product suitable for a wide range of new and aged coating systems, whether for newbuilding, major refits or routine on board maintenance. KEY FEATURES two-component tar-free epoxy tie coat maximum adhesion between primer and topcoat compatible with a wide range of antifouling and cosmetic topcoats certified as a barrier against TBT leaching over old TBT antifoulings suitable for topside and underwater hull areas suitable for newbuilding, major refits and on board maintenance good resistance to chalking and discolouration. AREAS OF USE Intergard 263 is always applied over a previously applied and properly prepared epoxy anticorrosive primer (e.g. Intershield 300, Intergard 7500 or Intergard 7600) within the specified overcoating interval. exterior hull (above and below the waterline) before application of antifouling as an intermediate coat before cosmetic (coloured) topcoats as a sealer coat over existing TBT antifoulings newbuilding, major refits or on board maintenance. APPLICATION The substrate (primer) must be dry and free of contamination (oil, grease, salt) and must be overcoated with Intergard 263 within the specified overcoating interval – see the technical data sheet of the relevant primer. The recommended application method is airless spray with a 0.46–0.66 mm tip at a pressure of at least 176 kg/cm² (2500 psi). Brush or roller should only be used for small areas or touch-ups, where several coats may be required. Thinning is usually not required; in exceptional cases use only International GTA220. Use GTA822 or GTA220 for equipment cleaning. For surface preparation, application temperatures and overcoating intervals, always follow the current International Technical Data Sheet (TDS). COMPATIBILITY Intergard 263 is the intermediate link in System A: it is applied over Intershield 300 / Intergard 7500 / Intergard 7600 and then overcoated with Interspeed 6400 or Interswift 6800HS. For the silicone/fluoropolymer system (Intersleek 737 + Intersleek 1100SR), the dedicated silicone tie coat Intersleek 737 is used instead of Intergard 263. IMPORTANT Intergard 263 is a professional two-component epoxy coating. Part A and Part B form a single system and must be used in the specified mixing ratio of 4 : 1. Technical data may vary depending on colour, area of use, coating system and application conditions. Always check the current technical and safety data sheets before use.
