SEAJET RIBCOAT – foul-release protection for rigid inflatable boats (set) The first biocide-free silicone system developed specifically for RIBs – for hull and tubes SEAJET RIBCOAT is the first biocide-free foul-release system developed specifically for rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) that stay in the water for long periods. The set combines a crystal-clear two-component epoxy primer with a silicone elastomer topcoat that creates an exceptionally smooth, water-repellent surface. Fouling cannot attach firmly to it – at speeds above approx. 15–20 knots the hull cleans itself, and any residue can be removed with a soft sponge or a low-pressure wash. Because the system is clear, your RIB keeps its original look and colour. The silicone coating is elastic enough for PVC and Hypalon tubes, so one set protects both hull and tubes. Larger boats require more sets. Hull: GRP, polyester, aluminium Tubes: PVC, Hypalon Technical data Colour: clear (primer and topcoat) Pack size: 1.75 l set Primer mixing ratio: 60 : 40 (by volume) – base : hardener Coverage: approx. 10 m²/l Cleaning and degreasing: SEAJET Thinner A Directions for use 1. Preparation: remove all dirt, fouling and old coating. 2. Hull: degrease and sand with P100–P120 sandpaper, then remove the dust. 3. Tubes: wash thoroughly with detergent, rinse with fresh water and let them dry completely. Then degrease with SEAJET Thinner A. Do not sand the tubes. 4. Clean the entire surface once more with SEAJET Thinner A. 5. Primer – hull only: mix base and hardener in a 60 : 40 ratio and apply 1 coat. 6. Topcoat – hull and tubes: apply RIBCOAT Finish between 30 minutes and 8 hours after the primer. Apply it directly to the tubes, without primer. 7. After approx. 3 hours, apply a second coat of topcoat. 8. Allow the coating to dry completely before launching the RIB. Maintenance Clean the hull and tubes from time to time with a soft sponge or wash them with fresh water at low pressure. Do not use scrapers, stiff brushes or abrasive cleaners, which would damage the silicone surface. Tip Do not let the silicone spread onto other surfaces – other paints will adhere poorly to them afterwards. Mask off handles, lettering and any parts you do not want coated with tape. SEAJET 039 PLATINUM – premium two-component SPC antifouling The most powerful antifouling in the SEAJET range – protection for up to 3 years, for warm seas, long passages and racing yachts SEAJET 039 PLATINUM is an elite self-polishing copolymer (SPC – Self-Polishing Copolymer) antifouling developed on the basis of advanced Japanese SPC technology. In contact with seawater the copolymer hydrolyses chemically and releases the biocides very evenly, so the coating maintains constant, predictable protection throughout its entire service life while the hull stays clean and smooth. When correctly applied, it provides protection for up to 3 years in moderate waters. PLATINUM is the benchmark coating for warm seas with very heavy fouling, for long passages (blue water cruising) and for racing yachts where every knot counts. SEAJET 038 TAISHO – super self-polishing copper-free antifouling Advanced copper-free protection for areas with heavy fouling – also suitable for aluminium SEAJET 038 TAISHO is a super self-polishing, copper-free antifouling based on a unique resin with a hydrolysing polymer.
