Description

SEAJET 117 Multipurpose Epoxy Primer – 400 ml spray Epoxy primer in an aerosol can – ideal for spot repairs above and below the waterline SEAJET 117 spray is a handy version of the popular SEAJET 117 epoxy primer, intended for small and spot repairs – gelcoat damage, scratches down to the substrate, keel repairs, metal parts or drives. There are no components to mix, no tools to clean and no large can to open – you apply the primer straight from the aerosol. The primer offers high coverage and outstanding adhesion, forms a permanently waterproof film that is impermeable to water vapour, and is abrasion-resistant. Below the waterline it acts as a barrier against water ingress and a base for antifouling; above the waterline it is a base for two-component topcoats. Advantages Handy aerosol – no mixing, brushes or tool cleaning Ideal for spot repairs and hard-to-reach areas Above and below the waterline Outstanding adhesion to GRP, gelcoat, steel and aluminium Impermeable to water vapour – protects against water ingress Abrasion-resistant and long-lasting High coverage Area of use Spot repairs to the hull below and above the waterline, gelcoat damage, keels, metal parts, drive legs, brackets, fittings. Substrates: GRP, gelcoat, steel, aluminium. Technical data Contents: 400 ml aerosol Colour: silver grey Coverage: approx. 0.5 m² at 80 µm (2 coats) Film thickness: 30–40 µm per coat Recommended number of coats: 2 Cleaning: SEAJET Thinner E Directions for use 1. The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease, wax and salt. Degrease and sand GRP and gelcoat; sand metals back to bright metal. Remove dust. 2. Protect the area around the repair with masking tape and plastic sheeting. 3. Shake the can vigorously for at least 2 minutes before use. 4. Spray from a distance of approx. 20–30 cm in thin, even coats with overlapping passes. 5. Apply 2 coats; wait until the first coat is touch dry before applying the second. 6. Once dry, apply antifouling (below the waterline) or a topcoat (above the waterline). 7. After use, turn the can upside down and spray until only propellant comes out, so the nozzle does not clog. Tip For larger areas and preventive osmosis protection, SEAJET 117 Multipurpose Epoxy Primer in cans (0.75 l – 20 l) is more economical. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Hazard labelling (GHS/CLP) Pictograms: GHS02, GHS07 Signal word: DANGER H222 Extremely flammable aerosol. H229 Pressurised container: may burst if heated. H315 Causes skin irritation.
