International Intersmooth 7640 HS SPC is a high-solids self-polishing antifouling based on Copper Acrylate SPC (Self Polishing Copolymer) technology, designed for long-term protection of ship hulls against fouling by algae, shellfish, slime and other marine organisms. The coating provides controlled surface polishing throughout its entire service life, continuously renewing the active protective layer and keeping the underwater surface smooth. The product is free of TBT (tributyltin) and is designed for professional use on commercial vessels and ships that require long-term protection and high performance. Thanks to its high solids content, it allows faster application, less material loss and lower volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions compared with conventional antifouling systems. SPC technology is based on a chemical reaction with seawater, which ensures a predictable polishing rate and even biocide release throughout the entire period of use. As a result, the build-up of inactive surface layers is reduced, hull hydrodynamics are improved and fuel consumption is lowered. Intersmooth 7640 HS SPC is suitable for use in protection systems of up to 60 months between drydockings, depending on the number of coats, vessel activity and operating conditions.
