International VC TAR2
Epoxy protective coating for osmosis and corrosion protection VC Tar2 is a two-component epoxy primer providing premium osmosis protection for polyester (GRP) boats and anti-corrosion protection for steel and alloys on surfaces below the waterline. It creates a waterproof barrier for osmosis prevention and post-osmosis repair. International VC Tar2 is a two-component epoxy protective coating designed to protect the underwater hull of boats against water ingress, osmosis and corrosion. It is used as a protective barrier on polyester (GRP), steel, aluminium and other alloy boats and on lead keels, while also serving as an effective base for antifouling systems. The coating forms a hard, waterproof epoxy layer with very good resistance to moisture and seawater. Thanks to its high protective performance, it is widely used as preventive protection on new boats or as part of osmosis repair on older hulls. VC Tar2 offers excellent adhesion to properly prepared substrates and allows an effective protective barrier to be built up in several coats. Once cured, it is the ideal base for antifouling coatings. Key features Two-component epoxy protective coating For osmosis and corrosion protection Suitable for GRP, steel, aluminium and lead Not suitable for wood For use below the waterline only High resistance to water and moisture Excellent adhesion to properly prepared substrates Suitable for new builds and repairs Compatible with antifouling systems Colours: off white and black – alternating coats make application easier to control Apply by roller, brush or spray Recommended number of coats GRP osmosis protection: 3–5 coats GRP osmosis repair: 7 coats Steel, aluminium and alloys: at least 4 coats Lead: at least 3 coats Technical data Mixing ratio: 7 : 1 (by volume) Thinner: International VC General Thinner (max. 5%) Do not use at temperatures below 5 °C Note: Before use, always check the manufacturer's latest Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for exact instructions on application, thinning and substrate compatibility.
