F2 – The future of hull protection
F2 is an innovative, 100% environmentally friendly alternative to classic antifouling coatings, designed specifically to protect the hull of vessels, reduce fouling, and improve performance – without the use of biocides, toxins, or other harmful substances.
What is F2?
F2 is a hybrid polymer coating that uses Zeronic™ technology to create an ultra-smooth, hard, and water-repellent surface to which marine organisms can practically not adhere. Instead of killing organisms (like biocidal antifouling), F2 prevents their adhesion with the physical effect of its surface.
Why choose F2?
1. Completely environmentally friendly
- F2 does not contain biocides, PFAS/PTFE, solvents, or VOCs.
- It does not release substances into the water – it does not cause pollution and actively protects aquatic ecosystems.
2. Long-lasting protection
- F2 provides 5+ years of protection with proper application and maintenance, without the need for annual coating or sanding.
- If the performance decreases over time, the surface can be easily refreshed with a new layer of Top Coat.
3. Improved sailing performance
- The ultra-smooth surface reduces drag in the water, which increases speed and improves fuel consumption.
- F2 can increase vessel efficiency by up to ~4% or more, depending on hull shape and sailing conditions.
4. Easy maintenance
- Because hard fouling hardly adheres to the surface, cleaning is very easy – surface fouling (e.g. bioslime) can be removed with a soft cloth or sponge.
- No more tedious scraping or annual antifouling applications.
- A natural self-cleaning effect occurs when sailing above ~10 knots.
5. Wide applicability
F2 EcoHull is suitable for various types of vessels: motorboats and sailboats, including trailer boats and dinghies. It works on various materials, such as:
- fiberglass (GRP)
- aluminum
- steel
- wood
- and other surfaces.
6. Application everywhere – fresh water, salt water, rivers, lakes
F2 works in fresh water, salt water, or mixed water, without special restrictions. Due to its environmental friendliness, it is also suitable for sensitive areas such as Lake Constance and regulated seas around Europe.
How does F2 work?
F2 works as a fouling-release system, which physically prevents the adhesion of marine organisms with its ultra-smooth, hydrophobic surface. Instead of killing them (like traditional antifouling), F2 prevents these organisms from firmly attaching.

How is F2 applied?
F2 is applied in three layers:
- EcoPrimer – prepares and seals the substrate.
- Adhesive Coat – provides strong adhesion.
- Top Coat – creates an ultra-smooth, hydrophobic protective layer.
After 36 hours, the vessel can already be in the water or lifted; complete curing takes up to 8–12 weeks in the water.
